Slimming World

Image
It is with a heavy heart (heavy everything really) that this week marked my return to fat club. Last August I took the plunge and joined weighing in at 17st 8lbs but within around six weeks all that changed and I slimmed down to 15st 13lbs losing over 1st 8lbs. I was euphoric so much so I decided to quit fat club and go it alone, the sessions were becoming laborious listening to the same stories week in week out. I didn't follow the plan back then instead I just lived off 'free food'. All my meals were bland with no taste I was eating endless bowls of rice and beans and pasta and tuna with the odd week of jacket potatoes. It only felt  like yesterday I was there experiencing that but when I returned last week I was shocked to realise I hadn't been for 8 months. I knew I had put on all that weight I lost and was prepared to weight one or two more pounds. I hopped onto the scales and awaited the news...19 stones yet that's right I weigh a whopping 19 sto...

Mental Breakdown

Image
For a while now I've been extremely happy but the reason behind this happiness was the fact I blocked out all the things which depressed me mainly university. This year at university has been extremely challenging, I would even go as far as to say I was bullied by someone who took it upon themselves to write indirect tweets and status' about me, making a dig at my mental health. Last Christmas I managed to hand in my the first section of my dissertation and was pleased with my grade. Everything began going downhill and I couldn't cope with all the stress, my mind just hasn't been on university for a long time. My anxiety has been fine and I've made such huge achievements but the second I think of uni I begin to feel sick and panic. Last week, I burst out crying in the early hours on the morning and had a massive breakdown where my mom found my curled up in a ball on my bedroom floor sobbing my heart out. I cannot cope and I have tried to get...

A Happy Box

Image
Firstly, sorry but this isn't a post about that box of deliciousness from McDonalds. I remember as a youngster going to bed feeling really depressed and finding it impossible to sleep. I developed a coping mechanism to help me sleep and that was to think about happy thoughts, fill my mind full of happy times. If I'm honest I often still rely on that thought process today. I believe if you go sleep happy then you'll wake up happy. So this got me thinking and I had a little brainwave and thought what if there was a way for me store these memories elsewhere and so the 'Happy Box' was invented. When I thought of the idea I did search the net and found other people have made one too (great minds think alike). If you're creative then you can go one step better and decorate your box however you like. A bonus if you enjoy arts and crafts and find it therapeutic.  So what's in my box? (There's something I never thought I'd ever say!) In the...

*Vitastik E-Cigarettes*

Image
I was recently offered the chance to try out Vitastik's e-cigarettes. I decided to test out the following three flavours: Orange and Grapefruit and Lime I found this pen a little more difficult to get my head around. Unlike the other flavours this pen has 3 and for me there was just a little too much going on and with every puff I tasted a different flavour.  However, in particular, I did really enjoy the grapefruit taste. Mint and Cherry I could really taste the cherry flavour in this pen. It wasn't too weak or too heavy, it was just right, a nice balance of mint to go with the cherry.  Mint and Peppermint The mint in this one wasn't as strong as the mint and cherry flavour. Smoking leaves that horrible smell which lingers on your skin and breath for hours. This mint and peppermint flavour was similar to chewing gum, it left my mouth feeling refreshed. Vitastik also offer two other flavours which can be found on their website. ...

*OZ Naturals Ocean Minerals Cleanser*

Image
Remember not long ago I discussed the biggest break out since Ronnie Biggs, the  spots  on my face. I managed to get rid and ever since I've been dabbling with all sorts of creams to prevent them making a reappearance. You can imagine my excitement when this little beauty dropped through my letter box. A gift from the skin gods. In the past I used to always carry tubes of cream around with me and applying it can be quite messy and leave your hands feeling oily and greasy. My face has felt much smoother and my skin has become far less dry. I think the main reason behind the cleansers success is the fact it contains no alcohol unlike many other products which cause irritations to my skin. There are several benefits such as; it is cruelty free, gluten free, vegan and contains no parabens or sulfates. It is also formulated for all skin types.  Here's what Oz Naturals have to say about the cleanser... "This superior face wash deep cleans and unclogs pores...
