Why is dating so difficult? I'll be honest I'm at a stage in my life where I've never felt so lonely before. Dating has been off the cards for a long time, we're talking years not months.

First of all comes your dating problem and if you've read my blog before you'll know talking about myself is my forte. The easiest part of a dating profile is your photos yet for me it's the hardest I can't bring myself to even upload a pic of myself instead I rely on these silly AI character selfies of me.

When I do get a match I'm always honest and I'll send them an actual selfie of me and then I await for them for open it and block me (it's happens quite often). I've chatted to quite a few girls and it tends to go really well but as soon as I feel it might go to the next step of going on a rate I run for the hills. I always think when they see me in real life they'll just wanna puke and I don't want to waste their time. So what do I do I always go a ruin it cause the thought of meeting them fill me with dread cause I know they'll feel let down once they see the state of me.

I can't win I'm tired of being alone and longing for a bit of company I've took the first step and started online dating but can't bring myself to go through with it any further and commit to a date.

I wish I could go back to my teenage years where I was carefree and wouldn't think twice about meeting a girl, I was up for it straight away. It's that bad even if I really enjoy talking to someone theres no way I could bring myself to asking them out on a date first.

I'm at a cross roads I want to date but when the opportunity comes along I just can't do it. I try telling myself well they've seen a selfie of me and they still talk to me so they must be interested I say that to try give myself a bit of confidence but it doesn't last long.

I'm hoping with more weight loss I'll finally take the plunge and go on a date but this losing weight game is a long process no matter how hard I try.

1. Come on then let’s just get it over and done with, the cliche New Years resolution is coming, the classic...lose weight. This year I’m hoping to spend more time in the kitchen and be more daring with food. If I do cook then it’s a case of shoving a pizza in the oven.

2. The Fitbit is coming out of storage, quick dusting and I’m determined to wear is as much as possible. I’m going to start off small and aim to reach 5,000 steps a day. To be honest, I’d be over the moon if I get to the stage whereby, I’m able to tie my own shoe lace.

3. My arch nemesis ...fizzy pop. I drink an unbelievable amount of fizzy pop and the worse thing is I’ve proved to myself I don’t need it because when I’m working or at uni all I drink is water all day. I’ll admit I’m not going to go tee total when it comes to fizzy drinks but I’ll definitely be drinking much more water.

4. Now this one is pretty much impossible for anyone who has anxiety and depression but I really need to try and not take things to heart so much. I let people get to me and it’s time I stop letting people put me down.

5. Panic attacks - there are lots of things I can do to stop getting myself so worked up to the point where I’m about to have a panic attack. Sounds silly, but I need to learn how to breath, how to regular my heartbeat and remain calm. Mindfulness is key.

6. So 2018 has been the year for vegans. Now I’m not going to commit to becoming vegan or vegetarian but I will start by thinking about what I eat and looking for healthier alternatives. Look into which foods are good for our bodies and help us feel revitalised.

7. What will be will be, so there’s no point dwelling on the past, the past can’t be changed but the present and future can so the times come to focus on living in the moment.

8. It’s not all doom and gloom, I’m going to smile more and say greet people in the corridors.

9. As we approach the end of the list, I’m running out of ideas so hey let’s go with being able to walk up the 3 floors to my office without panting and gasping for breath. Suppose it would help if I avoided the lift.

10. And finally, to work on my Positive Mental Attitude. I’ve got the whole world resting on my shoulders and now it’s about time I started to shrug some things off!

An opportunity has arisen for guest bloggers to feature on the site. We welcome bloggers from all over the world. This is a great opportunity to promote your blog and reach a wider audience. It would be fantastic to hear from similar blogs and your guest post can focus on mental health, skincare, lifestyle. As a male blogger, many of my female readers miss out on features I am unable to do so why not create a feature on beauty, makeup, skincare etc.  I would love for you to share your own mental health experiences and anonymity is welcome if you do not wish to be identified so you can share your mental health issues without judgement. On New Years Eve I published my five new years resolutions. So let's look back at them and see what's happened since...

1. Take steps to control my anxiety (easier said than done). This is probably my most difficult resolution and will take time finding the right approaches which work for me.

One of the worse things about my anxiety is the sweating which comes with it. I've noticed the more relaxed I am, the less I sweat. I've been trying to not be so tense and it's going kinda well apart from the snappy comments I make towards people. I've seen a big decrease in my sweating so I'm doing something right, for once. There is still a long way to go and I can't wait until my regular GP comes back in April from maternity leave so I can get some real help and confide in someone I trust.

2. Lose weight again *sigh*. This involves giving up chocolate, crisps, sugary drinks, fast food and reducing my sugar intake.

This is almost laughable. I haven't made any attempt what so ever to tackle my weight. Same old same old, I tell myself "it's going to start Monday", "I'm going to join fat club again". It's annoying because I know I can do it because I did it last year but slipped into old habits and soon found myself back at square one. Yesterday I found my old jeans, at my heaviest I was 17stone 8lbs and I found some jeans which I used to wear a lot and when I lost weight they become quite baggy but yesterday I struggled to pull them up my leg let alone belly. After some moans and groans and lots of breathing in I only managed to do two buttons up. I will get there though, I say it a lot but I will.

3. Go out more to more meaningful places and create memories as I'm writing this life is pretty repetitive I spend my days and weeks going to the same places endlessly

Well there is a theme emerging here. You can probably guess what I'm going to say next. Nothings changed on this one. I'm still going to the same old places day in day out. But I think the main reason I'm struggling with this resolution is because of finances. I have to pay out money for a few essentials who knew how expensive mattresses were? I make a lot of my money from buying and selling stuff. So recently I spent a lot of money and haven't had the opportunity to make much back yet. I want to go places though hopefully, this weekend I can go Safari Park. This problem is I get up early but my other half is a lazy bum and she's the once with a car and because of my anxiety I like to be out and about as early as possible. One of  my favourite places has to be Stratford Upon-Avon, I adore the scenery and it's pretty close to wear I live so fingers crossed I will get my day out there.

4. Try and have a positive outlook as much as possible and not take things to heart so easily (again easier said than done).

To start off this wasn't going so well, I was quite sensitive and cared a lot about what other people think. Yet I like to tell myself I'm one of those people who "don't give a fuck about what people think". I tend to think like that for a good solid powerful 10 seconds then reality kicks in and I spends hours caring about what others think. As I said yesterday was my 22nd birthday and some people who I thought were my friends didn't even wish me a happy birthday. I wasn't even worthy of 10 seconds of their time. Well guess what, actually you're not worth of my time or energy.

5. Spend my time wisely, get out of bed and be grateful I've been given another day of life

I'm actually laughing reading this because guess what? I'm in bed right now as I type this with no motivation to get up. But hey, it is freezing so I kinda have an excuse. Right? I'm not ashamed to admit I've failed in my New Years Resolutions because I know there is thousands of people up and down the country in the same boat as me. This boat is letting in water but it refuses to sink, let's pull it back and sail away into the sunset victorious in the coming months.
