Mr Tom James

Being overweight I often experience chafing  in between my thighs. Anyone who has experienced chafing  knows only too well the discomfort and pain is causes not the mention it can give off a horrible smell. In the past I’ve tried a few things mainly chafing  talc but this only soothes the chafing . My mom bought me something to treat it but I wasn’t very optimistic as nothing has really worked before. I was presented with a tiny mental tin named Chub Rub. Initially I wasn’t impressed and assumed it was some kind of joke at my expense. She reassured me but for a tiny tin costing £8 I couldn’t see it lasting very long.

How wrong could I have been? I only use a tiny bit on the tip of my finger and its more than enough on my chafing. To my surprise it actually works and its the best thing I’ve used for chafing . Since using it I’m chafing very little and unlike the talcs it’s helped prevent chafing .

Over the years I’ve tried a ton of shampoos, nice fragrant ones, ones specially for men and of course the classic anti-dandruff ones and not one has made much of a difference. As I’ve sat and dried my hair after a shower I’ve noticed straight away I’ve still got Eczema and Dandruff. It might not seem like a big deal but it can make you feel down when something so simple isn’t a problem for many other people. For me my Eczema on my scalp has always caused me anxiety, elsewhere on my body I can hide it but when it’s in your hair there’s little you can do. My first three years of secondary school were tough, we had to wear dark navy blazers and throughout the day my Eczema would always be noticeable on my blazer collar and I couldn’t not wear my blazer cause of my excessive sweating which I was trying to hide. No matter how many times you try and explain to people that it’s Eczema and you can’t control it they don’t listen, to them it’s dandruff and just makes you look lazy and unhygienic.

Hair cuts have always been a massive deal for me, I absolutely detest them to the point where I’ve left it as long as possible until to the stage where I’m sitting in the hairdressers chair on the brink of a breakdown cause I’m that conscious about the Eczema on my scalp. My childhood was spent using Polytar from the doctors which is a shampoo used to treat scalp Eczema but the smell is awful. It wasn’t until recently that I came across a post in one of these discount bargain groups on Facebook where a lady was informing people about a deal on Child’s Farm products at Boots. I scrolled through  hundreds of comments and there were lots of parents saying how it has been the best cream and shampoo to treat their child’s Eczema. Of course I wasn’t very optimistic as I’ve heard all my life of these creams that magically make Eczema disappear but for the sake of a couple of pounds I didn’t have much to loose so bought the cream, shampoo and conditioner.

I’m obsessed with the whole Child’s Farm range and I’m convinced that the best products for all of us are the ones marketed for babies. There seems to be a lot less ingredients and they’re far more sensitive on our skin. The Child’s Farm moisturiser is also a must, most creams tend to just give you a temporary fix and the next day your back to square one again. I’ve been recommending Child’s Farm to everyone but no one has taken much notice as it sounds too good to true but yesterday I couldn’t believe my luck when a fellow blogger wrote about their experience using Child’s Farm on Psoriasis and the results were astounding. I can’t believe something so affordable is such positive effects on our skin.

As you all know I'm a big fan of Lush, just like every other blogger out there. I'm sure you must get tired of forever seeing loads of blog posts about Lush and various bloggers and vloggers showing off their latest Lush hauls but hey I haven't posted anything about Lush in a while so give me a chance.

I must admit I am a bit of a sheep in that I'll follow the crowd and jump on the bandwagon when I hear about a popular product. A lot of the time I have to get my hands on it otherwise I feel as though I'm missing out. For a while now I've heard a lot of good reviews about the Lush Sleepy cream. I didn't buy some straight away as I was a little skepical, I mean a cream helping you get a goods night sleep it sounds too good to be true.

If you've read my blog before then you'll know all about my anxiety and depression and well anyone who has experienced it will often all suffer from a lack of sleep, me being no exception. Most nights I can be up until 4am and naturally wake up at 8am. For the past few weeks I've found myself sleeping far too much and having long naps during the day. I can't win first I don't sleep enough and now I sleep too much.

I knew something had to be done, in the past when I've spoken to my doctor about sleep they've always mentioned the importance of routine and to remove any distractions such as, not watching tv, playing on tablets/phones etc. Earlier this week I went into town purely to buy some of this Sleepy cream and give it a try. The first thing I noticed was the smell, often just walking past Lush can give me a headache from all the strong smells but Sleepy is different, it's got a lovely scent which is subtle and not overpowering like some of the other products. It's got the perfect balance of fragrance it's not much yet still has an amazing scent to it. Instantly the first thing I picked up on was the lavender. For the first time in a long time when I got home I couldn't wait for the night to come to put Sleepy to the test.

I only use a little bit and apply it around my eyes, under my nose and little bit on my chest. Instantly as I was applying it I was becoming more and more relaxed which was an amazing feeling as normally I'm always feeling anxious, yes even in my own room and bed I can still anxious. Every night I've been used Sleepy I've had a good sleep and to top it off normally in the morning when I'm brushing my teeth I'll notice patches of dry skin on my face from my Eczema but the Sleepy has stopped these patches from appearing. As it stands I'm waking up feeling refreshed and in a better mood knowing I've have a good sleep. I'd highly recommend giving Sleepy a try before trying alternatives such as; sleeping pills as they were the only thing I thought would work.

Sleepy is the perfect stocking filler for Christmas, personally I'm too selfish to share and couldn't bring myself to gifting anyone a pot cause I'm addicted to it too much. If you struggle with your sleep and you're fortunate enough to have a Lush store nearby then pop in and try a little cause it might just work for you too. It's a perfect treat and has that wintery feel to it where it just wraps you up like a blanket on a cold wintery evening.

Here's what Lush have to say about Sleepy...

'You'll sleep well after dipping into this dreamy lotion, made with a gentle oatmeal infusion, calming lavender flower and comforting sweet tonka absolute. A rich, malty and floral perfume conjures up visions of sugar plums and hot drinks topped with whipped cream while the heavenly ministrations of creamy Fair Trade organic cocoa butter and delicate lavender water cook and enrich the skin. Blanket your body in this lovely lotion before stepping into soft pyjamas for snuggle nights beside the fire.'

None of us like spots. That feeling when you wake up in the morning stroll to the bathroom and after you look up from brushing your teeth a huge spot has appeared overnight staring right at you in the mirror.

I'm not one for popping spots with my fingers and the thought just makes me shudder so my solution has always been spot cream which is great and works but it often takes quite a few hours to clear. The creams and gels and inexpensive and can be bought for £1 or less but they're no good if you need that instant removal.

Spots are evil and can be really damage your self confidence they make me really paranoid which doesn't help when I already have anxiety. The thought of someone standing near me and noticing a spot on my face makes me a nervous wreck.

I remember at college a few years ago a few gasps and screams from the girls all huddled around a phone. Being inquisitive I had to find out what was going on and it turns out they were watching Dr. Pimple Popper. I watched one video and thought nothing of it again.

I think I've mentioned before how I struggle with my sleep and often can be awake in the early hours of the morning and quite easily function on just a few hours sleep. Well these past few weeks for some unknown reason I keep waking up at around 3pm. Anyone who's ever been awake at this time knows how boring it is as the television is just shopping channel after shopping channel.

I found myself searching the usual random things early in the morning and up popped Dr Pimple Popper. Since then I haven't looked back and like many of her followers I'm addicted to seeing what she gets up to although there's a few things on her Instagram I wish I didn't watch but it's hard to just look away once you hit play.

Looking at all the techniques she uses I noticed she had a gadget where she simply pushes down and pulls the gadget across the skin and POP the spots all gone. It looked like the perfect technique for me to try so I ordered a kit off eBay. I've only had it about a week but now I'm fully prepared and equipped for any spot brave enough to appear on my skin. I no longer worry about spots and the thought of one actually excited and I can't wait to get my tools on the little bugger and get rid of him.

The kits are quite cheap I think mine was only around £4 including postage on eBay or you can just buy a single tool for about £1. I highly recommend them and they are well worth buying. No more lotions and potions and waiting around for spots to go anymore in just a few seconds my problems are solved.

It's been a while since I last wrote a post about my Eczema. Right now, I'm so happy to announce it's the best it's ever been and it's all down to this bottle of heavenly spray...

I am obsessed with the Tea Tree Spray, it has made life so much more easier. In the past, I would always carry a tube of moisturiser on me and apply it throughout the day whilst out and about. But now it's all about the spray; no streaks, no mess and no greasy hands left behind that you get with many creams. Two puffs is more than enough and it's amazing just how long the bottle lasts it's definitely value for money.

To begin with I started applying the spray to my face but after seeing the positive effects on my face I began using it all over my body. Since the first spray I haven't had a single spot appear which is a massive relief. Tea tree seems to be one of those all in one products it has lots of benefits to the skin and it's inexpensive. The grapefruit and juniperberry give it a pleasant smell. I would highly recommend it for girls when removing your make up. I know a lot of those make up wipes you use can sting the skin and often they don't smell too nice. The spray will help to remove your make up leaving it feeling refreshed ready for a good nights sleep.

Tea tree products seem to be the best thing for my skin lately, years ago I'd always bathe in tea tree soap but these days it's much more difficult to get your hands on a bar. Without doubt this is my must have item for June and I'm looking forward to exploring what else Lush have to offer in their tea tree range. Not only has this spray made my skin feel smoother than a baby bottom but it's had a positive effect on my anxiety. Now when I'm out in public I feel so much more relaxed knowing my skin is hydrated and the spray just makes you feel so much cleaner as well.

Here's what Lush have to say about the Tea Tree Spray...

Keep skin clear and refreshed. Tea tree is antibacterial, antifungal and antimocrobial, so can help keep away the bacteria that can cause spots. Grapefruit is rich in vitamins and is also lightly astringent on the skin, whilst juniperberry is antiseptic and helps keep skin clean and clear. Use any time of day to keep skin refreshed, or to remove traces of makeup of cleanser.

I recently posted about the latest demon and depressant in my life...SPOTS! I mentioned how I found the 'Grease Lightening' spot treatment from Lush. Unfortunately, I haven't had chance to visit a store to pick up a bottle. However, I did mention briefly how I picked up a tube of spot gel for just one pound but didn't hold out much hope for it. Well, I was wrong, I've been using for a few days now and the swelling and redness has changed dramatically, the spots are no longer bulging from my forehead.

The product I've been using is the T-Zone Spot Zapping Gel, it does state how it provides "Rapid Action" and "Get's to work in just 4 hours". Now, I wouldn't agree with these statements and I wouldn't recommend it for a quick and easy solution. However, my spots were already present, maybe it works better on spots which are just starting out. It's definitely more for prevention than curing but still managed to do the job.

Nevertheless, it's cheap and for the sake of a pound you can't complain. Now you should know by now my battle with eczema so I was pleased to read one of the ingredients in this spot gel is Tea Tree which has been fundamental in treating my eczema all my life. Tea Tree is a phenomenal ingredient not just for eczema but for any skin soap but it can prove difficult to get your hands on, I highly recommend you try some tea tree soap, it hydrates the skin and it's odour is flawless. Every time I use it, it leaves me feeling fresh.
